A woman's handbag is often an endless pit of items, and although you're most likely to find the usuals like make-up, perfume, and maybe even little sweets, some handbags also contain some weird items.

In a recent interview on British Vogue's 'In The Bag', South African singer Tyla revealed the items she carries in her handbag.

The singer unpacked her white Givenchy handbag to reveal what she carries with her and although there was the usual lip gloss, perfume, and a pair of sunglasses in her bag, there were also a few shocking items.

The 'Water' singer revealed a 2kg bag of maize meal, which she carries with her.

"So in South Africa, we use this to make pap. Pap is like this (the maize meal), hot water and some salt. It's a workout to make," she said after revealing the South African staple.

"You cannot go wrong with Vaseline," she said.
