VIDEO: Tornado hits areas of Mpumalanga

A tornado was spotted near the Tutuka Power Station between Bethal and Standerton in Mpumalanga.

Wild storms hit South Africa on Monday, 13 November, which wreaked havoc across many locations in the country. 

This included a tornado which was moving through the Tutuka Power Station between Bethal and Standerton in Mpumalanga.

Although the tornado didn't hit any residential areas, residents did fear it coming closer, as it was edging towards their homes.

Shortly after the unsettling tornado, the area was battered by a heavy storm that flooded it, especially between Standerton and Bethal.

Midrand in Gauteng, where Jacaranda FM’s studio is located, was also hit by the storm, which resulted in golf ball-sized hail destroying trees, property, and car windows.
