Updated | By The Drive with Rob & Roz
A number of countries around the world have begun to trial the four-day week, and South Africa is next in line to test things out.
The Covid-19 pandemic saw South African workplaces changing significantly, and yet managing to function. So, right now is the time to try out new working models.

The four-day work week was first proposed by Andrew Barnes and Charlotte Lockhart, and operates on a system that lets workers get paid 100% for working 80 % of the time, and giving 100% of their effort for that time.
This model is currently being tested in the United Kingdom with a huge study population of 70 companies.
Two organisations, 4 Day Week Global and the 4 Day Week SA Coalition, are inviting South African companies to volunteer for the experiment.
One company, Flux Trends, have been led by their CEO Dion Chang to become one of the first companies to trial the model, however large scale implementation remains challenge.
