This past weekend, Natasha Joubert was crowned the newest Miss SA in the final for the 2023 pageant.

After months of anticipation, it was finally time to tune in to watch the magnificent and extravagant event, which was hosted by SA entertainment royalty, Bonang Matheba.

And, clearly, South Africans were eager to watch the evening unfold as the show broke records.

At the start of the broadcast, over 600,000 viewers tuned in at 18h30.

It didn't stop there, as more viewers continued to tune in throughout the night and by 21h00, more than 1.08-million people were watching.

This saw the event reach record-breaking heights.

The last time SABC 3 pulled over 1-million viewers was in September 2021 when Bafana Bafana played against Ghana in a World Cup qualifier match!
