New WhatsApp version will stop working on 49 phones

As technology and the digital world keeps moving forward, some older tech will, unfortunately, be left in the past.

Cassette, CD, and videotape players are just a few devices we no longer have much, if any, use for, so it comes as no surprise that certain applications will soon reach an updated version that no longer functions on older devices.
The latest to announce their newest updates will no longer work on over 40 different phone models is WhatsApp.

From the 31st of December, the latest version will cease to function on 49 phones and here is the full list:

While many of these phones are a few years old, that doesn't mean people are no longer using them. If your phone is on the list above you would have to upgrade to a different device if you want to continue using WhatsApp.
