There are very few places left on the planet that would survive in the event of a zombie apocalypse, seeing as humans have almost reached every nook and cranny of this planet.

However, a possible candidate for the best zombie apocalypse hideout is the house that also holds the sad title of being the world's loneliest home.

Located south of Iceland on the island of Elliðaey is a house that is completely on its own. You've even probably already seen pictures of this adorable-looking little white cottage.

While there are many wild rumours about how this lonesome came to be the only dwelling on the island the real tale is pretty simple.

A club of puffin (bird) hunters went to the island and survived on the birds and the local fish before leaving permanently around the 1930s.

The house has only had 11,265 visitors, including YouTuber Ryan Trahan, who was able to film the interior of the house and show viewers the cozy inside for the first time:
