Times are tough for all of us, but there are a group of teachers who are making life a little easier for their students.
In a post from SunnySkies.com images shared by Niota School in Tennesee, USA have gone viral and this time for all the right reasons.
Gone are the days where teachers simply teach, these days the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" rings truer than ever. With the cost of living and education going up, we end up cutting corners at home to give our kids the best start in life. Teachers are getting more involved in the physical and emotional wellbeing of our children.
Niota school have set up a "Comfort Closet", an initiative by the teachers and the school, to help children in need without making them feel judged or different.
In an interview with dailypostathenian.com, teachers Heather Malick and Vanessa Bateman explained; "In the younger grades, we're always in need of extra clothes between accidents and spills," Bateman shared. "I think between those things and just knowing your students from listening to them, we begin to figure out things they may be in need of outside of those circumstances. We started talking about what we could do as a school family and as a community. We decided what our kids really needed was a place to get these supplies with no judgment, no questions, and easy access. The last thing we want our students worrying about are these basic needs."
