Criminals get COVID-19 savvy: Four men rob store dressed in PPEs

Criminals have come up with creative ways to sustain their unlawful life. They have now used the global coronavirus pandemic to cash in.
Vigilance is of utmost importance during the COVID-19 pandemic, but South Africans are now also required to be on the lookout for criminals posing as bogus health care practitioners.
Police have launched a massive manhunt for four suspects in connection with the armed robbery of a Checkers supermarket in Scottsville in KwaZulu-Natal.

A video of the incident, which left many in disbelief, has since gone viral on social media.
The suspects fled with at least R200,000.
Police say the men entered the store and asked to engage with the store manager.
The bogus health workers entered the store’s cash office and walked away – dressed in personal protective equipment - with bags filled with cash.
