Cuteness alert: Premature hippo takes first steps
Updated | By Poelano Malema
When Fiona the hippo was born prematurely at Cincinnati Zoo, staff members had to give her 24-hour care to ensure her survival.
After much love and attention, Fiona miraculously made it and the good news is she is now learning to walk.
“Encouraging news from hippo headquarters this morning. Fiona was active during the night and consumed a good amount of formula on her own! This video, taken by her animal care staff during the overnight shift, shows Fiona’s first steps! Keep the positive vibes coming!” Christina Gorsuch, curator of mammals at the Cincinnati Zoo, told goodthingsguy.com.
See her take her first baby steps in the video below. It will make your day!
