In the video, Scott highlights the fact that recently, the world went through a shortage of computer chips because of a lack of semiconductor materials.
He points out that since computer chips are in so many everyday objects, one would expect there to be a number of computer chip manufacturers.
Well, there are many chip manufacturers, but they all use technology developed by a single company to manufacture them.
This one company called, ASML, has become an integral part of many people’s lives and is even a rising power in geopolitics.
Essentially, ASML perfected over 30 years a machine that can print circuits onto semiconductors at the nanometer level.
