Well, a motor store in Canada has the answer. According to a video shared on TikTok, the answer is no. 

In the video, it is said that the oil grade is different with the new technology in place; therefore, there is no need to warm up your car before you drive.

However, that might only relate to newer models of cars and that, back in the day, it may have been needed.
