EFF dares Tshwane mayor to drink Hammanskraal tap water
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the City of Tshwane have challenged Mayor Cilliers Brink to drink tap water they brought from Hammanskraal.
The area, north of Tshwane, has been hit by a cholera outbreak which has claimed the lives of at least 17 people.
On Wednesday, the EFF refused to allow the council sitting to start until the mayor had drunk the water.
Finance MMC Peter Sutton was set to table the city’s latest budget.

EFF councillor Obakeng Ramabodu opened a bottle of water that was carried in by the red berets, challenging Brink to drink the contents.
"We have brought water from Hammanskraal because you are saying there's no cholera. Drink it, let's see."
Ramobudu told the council that it would not proceed while the city is facing the crisis of a cholera outbreak.
