After mounting pressure, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has taken the decision to step down.
It has been a week of tension and uncertainty which ended with jubilation in Harare and around the world. His resignation comes mere hours after impeachment proceedings were set in motion in the Zimbabwean Parliament on Tuesday.
