Terrified passengers ran for their lives as the container containing a red substance tumbled and rolled to the floor, spilling what the prankers called the 'coronavirus'.

The teenagers were dressed in full-body hazmat suits and pretended to spill a vat of COVID-19 on a packed train — leaving passengers screaming in fear.

The pranksters were identified by Insider as David Flores, 17, and Morris Cordewell, 19. In the video, one passenger hoped the liquid was Kool-Aid, while another asked if it was coronavirus.

The teens both gave thumbs-up signals while telling other passengers on the train that all was well. Chaos erupted soon after as they removed the lid of the box plastered with “WARNING” stickers.

They then pretended to fall, which saw the container drop and spill its contents all over the carriage. Some passengers ran in fear while others correctly guessed that it was a prank.

The teens then reassured the screaming passengers that it was indeed a prank and that there was no need to panic.

The video has gone viral and social media users are divided over the prank - some said it was harmless fun while others said the virus has killed people and thus is no joking matter.
