Recipe of the day: Turmeric smoothie for healthier lungs

Our hero of the day is Turmeric for healthier lungs.

Turmeric is important in improving the function of the lungs and helps with conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and acute lung injury because of its effectiveness in pulmonary conditions with abnormal inflammatory responses.

Given the current state of viruses in the world, it is wise to do everything in your power to make sure the immune system is functioning optimally.
Since the lungs play a large role in immune health, enhance their function by consuming ingredients that encourage lung health.
Recipe:
· 1/2 cup or 1 freshly orange juice or Lemon
· 1 tsp coconut oil
· 1 -inch piece of ginger root, peeled and chopped
· 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
· 1/2 c chopped pineapple, frozen overnight
· 1 tbsp. peppermint oil or mint leaves
· 1 tbsp. Honey
· 1tsp. Turmeric
Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth. If you want it a little thicker, you can add some ice cubes and blend until you have reached your desired consistency.
