Attempted hijacking in Boksburg ends in a surprising twist

A group of hijackers in the Boksburg area had the shock of their lives when one of their would-be victims fought back.

It is well-known that South Africa faces a huge problem when it comes to robberies and hijackings. Not content with standing by and becoming part of the statistic, some citizens are fighting back.

This past weekend, a couple from Van Dyk Park, Boksburg took decisive action against a group of hijackers. CCTV footage shows the criminals parking across the street and then approaching the house. A post on Intelligence Bureau SA's Facebook page says that the hijackers cornered a couple and forced them to leave their car.

For reasons unknown, a few of the men leave the yard and go back to their own car. This gives the owners of the house the chance to get back into their car and reverse towards the hijackers. What happens next will surprise you.

The owners of the house reverse into the hijackers' car, sending it into the nearby field. To make sure that the criminals don't get away with their plan, the owner of the house drives into the car a second time. They then drive away, leaving the hijackers stunned.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says two suspects were arrested and are due in the Boksburg Magistrate Court on charges of hijacking and possession of unlicensed firearms.
