Chaos in Ukraine as man is left holding grenade in the street
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Two Ukranian men were at the centre of a
dramatic incident involving a ‘live’ grenade.
A man in Ukraine was left clinging onto a grenade after a soldier friend of his tricked him into holding the weapon.
According to reports, the two were having a heated conversation before the soldier said to his friend, “here, take this.” The second man obliged, reportedly believing that his friend was going to hand him a phone.
When he realised it was a grenade, he pushed down on the lever to prevent it from exploding. By this time the soldier had walked away. The man called for help and passersby alerted police.

He held onto the grenade as tightly as he could, and people gathered around to help him hold onto it. Everyone waited for the bomb squad to arrive.
It would turn out the drama was for naught as the grenade was a replica.
It is not known whether the soldier believed this was a joke, but he has since been arrested and may face up to seven years in prison.
