"I feel fine" - Rian van Heerden on his recovery
After undergoing an operation and isolating himself with COVID-19 - the Scenic Drive team caught up with Rian van Heerden.
TV presenter, producer, and the host of 'The Scenic Drive with Rian' on Jacaranda FM, Rian van Heerden, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Van Heerden went in for an operation on Monday to remove a kidney stone.
Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, Van Heerden was screened, tested, and put into isolation before being admitted to the hospital as part of their COVID-19 procedures.
Unfortunately, he tested positive for the virus.

Van Heerden is currently not broadcasting and will soon be back with the team.
"I apologize that I have been so scarce behind the microphone for the last month or so. It's as if a myriad of medical issues simultaneously formed the perfect storm. 46 is not for 'sissies', especially not with my type of lifestyle. So kidney stone is out today but from tomorrow in self-isolation with my COVID," Van Heerden wrote on Facebook.
Van Heerden has praised his nurses and doctors at the hospital for taking good care of him.
On Sunday, Van Heerden returned home from the hospital. The Scenic Drive team caught up with Van Heerden to hear how he is doing while isolating at home.
"I left my office on Monday, and the pain became worst and worst. I checked myself into the hospital. They said they have to keep me but they first have to test me for COVID-19.
"At 02:00 in the morning, the nurse said I'm COVID-19 positive.
"I miss you. Thank you so much for the surprise. Much appreciated - you made my Monday!"
The Scenic Drive team surprised Van Heerden with healthy groceries and some snacks.
Van Heerden also mentioned that he is "feeling fine".
