'Love Island SA' not diverse enough? South Africans weigh in

Well-known actress and TV host Leandie du Randt and South Africa welcomed the cast for 'Love Island SA' into their homes on Sunday.

On Sunday, the first episode of 'Love Island SA' landed on South African TV - and well-known actress, TV host, and entrepreneur, Leandie du Randt welcomed the cast. 

Leandie du Randt is well-known for presenting the reality weight loss program known as 'Slank' and was the co-host of the live music program 'Kom Ons Jol' on kykNET.

Leandie is best-known for her role as Ivanka Gouws in the kykNET soap, 'Binnelanders'. She played the characters Mieke in 'Getroud Met Rugby' and her brand new movie, 'Meisies Wat Fluit.' Du Randt has been in 22 movies. 

Last year, Leandie du Randt took her seat as a judge at Miss South Africa.

Leandie du Randt welcomed the cast, or as they are known, the 'Islanders', to the villa.

Unfortunately, social media users were not happy about the representation or diversity in the cast - and the show became a trending topic. South Africans also had mixed feelings about the production and sound issues during the episode.
