The best way to tell whether someone is lying, in Volkwyn's opinion, is if you are speaking to them in person. However, you can also tell if someone is lying over the phone or even via email.

Volkwyn argued that human lie detectors are frequently more accurate than polygraphs since science and psychology have demonstrated that if you are lying, your face and voice will reveal it, even for a split second.

Although it is hard to know for definite if someone is lying, if you are aware of the telltale indicators, you can fairly accurately ascertain the truth.
