"I started flying with my dad when I was 15," Werner told Rian van Heerden.

In 2019, Megan and four of her teen co-pilots flew from Cape Town to Cairo and back.

In Augustus 2019, Megan and the Werner family received heartbreaking news - their father, Des, who is also a pilot, died in a plane crash in Tanzania.

After heartbreak, Megan is continuing to pursue her dreams - and wrote her first book 'As Jy Droom' with eNuus anchor Daniella van Heerden.

'As Jy Droom' is a story of perseverance, hope, and pain.

Werner joined the Scenic Drive with Rian to talk about her incredible success at a young age, her pain after losing her father, and her new book.

"Everyone expected the plane that was built by the teenagers would crash, however, the plane my father was flying crashed. They said the plane had an engine failure."

"I was waiting for my dad to come. I was 17 and alone in the middle of nowhere. It was a hard reality," Werner continued.
