In excitement for the upcoming 'Angeliena' premiere, here’s what some of the cast members had to share.

Kuli Roberts as 'Tina'

“It was a great experience and being from Cape Town it was an honour to be part of this film. I couldn't believe I would be acting alongside such great thespians. I'm very humbled to be part of 'Angeliena'. Also, playing a Capetonian was easy as I'm from Langa and lived in Athlone and Kuilsriver. "

Euodia Sampson as 'Angeliena'

“Bringing 'Angeliena' to life every day. Digging into her psyche, really feeling her, through every cell in my body. Understanding and developing her. It was very interesting for me as an actress, to just watch myself, and to not overthink her and just ‘be’ her. And to allow her to have her mannerisms, her ‘sê-goedjies’, her instincts in her situations. Just play her every day. And to not just portray her as angry, because she could have been an angry woman because of the things that have happened to her.”

Colin Moss as 'Dr Lawrence Mitchell'

“Working on 'Angeliena' was an absolute joy - not least because we shot it at a time when the rest of our industry had been utterly decimated by COVID-19. But a real highlight for me was that all of the locations were in Cape Town’s “Deep South”. That and the fact that I got to work with such a wonderful cast and crew of very, very special people!"
