Anyone who has ever played a board game with a person who loves to cheat and break the rules knows how frustrating it is. Arguing about the rules takes the fun out of the game, and you often find yourself thinking, 'why can't they just go and play their own game?'

The creators of Monopoly know this struggle all too well, and are planning to address it with the Autumn 2018 release of an updated version of the popular board game.

In an attempt to accommodate those who would wilfully break the sacred rules of Monopoly, Hasbro is releasing Monopoly: Cheaters Edition.

The new game will allow players to get away with cheating as many times as they can, and will include prompts such as 'steal money from the bank' and 'when it is your turn, move another player's token instead of your own'.

But be warned: just because you are allowed to cheat, it doesn't mean you won't still be punished for it. Cheaters who are caught will have to follow the instructions on the back of the cards to see what their penalties are. This penalty system needs players to constantly be focused on what others are doing, which might add more time to your game night.
