In 2019, Brendon Peel and Li Lau's crossbow escape stunt went wrong at the National Arts Festival.

Li Lau, AKA 'One Crazy China', performs what he likes to call 'bizarre entertainment' that features a unique blend of escapology (the art of escape) and sideshow stunts (e.g. fire eating and glass walking) with an added touch of magic and mentalism for good measure.

According to the Herald Live, the crossbow arrow had pierced his head and that he had walked away with five stitches.

Lau added that the crossbow routine was by far the most dangerous act he had ever performed.

They swore never to perform the act again.

However, when the frightening act attracted the interest of 'Britain’s Got Talent', the two said they would do it one more time as a final send-off to that particular escape.

Peel and Lau recorded the act for 'Britain’s Got Talent' in early January — this time without incident.

The Scenic Drive team spotted the performance on social media - and invited the duo for a telephonic interview.

Lau agreed to do a similar yet safer act for the Scenic Drive.
