Live television is difficult on a regular day, but add a tricky location into the mix and you're bound to witness a few on-screen blunders.

When British breakfast show This Morning planned to send one of its presenters, Alison Hammond, out onto the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool for a fun weather report featuring the floating weather map, they could not have expected that things would turn out quite like this.

Alison starts off well, keeping relatively steady as she jumps between locations on the interactive map. When she crosses over to Northern Ireland, where there will be "patchy" rain, things go awry

Alison asks two young men who are standing by, apparently to add some colour to the scene and also to function as her helpers while she jumps around on the map, to get ready. As she leaps across she accidentally pushes one of the men into the water. The in-studio presenters, Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby, gasp in shock and amusement as the scene unfolds.

The man manages to clamber back onto the floating map while Alison apologises profusely. She recovers the segment by saying "as you can see it is very wet in Northern Ireland" before carrying on with the weather report the best way she can.

The man who took a tumble into the river, later identified as Chris, was reportedly okay after the incident. He must have known to prepare himself for all eventualities before going on live TV.

Viewers took the moment as a welcome interruption to what would otherwise have been a dull weather report.
