Is the Friday the 13th eclipse a sign of the end of the world?
Paul Begley believes the partial lunar eclipse on 13 July is a sign of the end of times.
On 13 July, the moon will line up almost perfectly with the sun, creating a partial lunar eclipse visible over Australia and Antarctica.
Past eclipses have captured people's attention, pushing them out into the streets to stare at the sky hoping to witness the cosmic event firsthand. This month's eclipse has also drawn a different group of enthusiasts out: the conspiracy theorists.
Christian conspiracy theorist Paul Begley believes the partial eclipse on 13 July is a precursor to something much worse: the full eclipse on 27 July during which refracted sunlight will give the moon a deep red glow. This Blood Moon is, according to Paul, a serious sign of the end of times.
Paul believes the powers of good and evil will shift on 13 July and that the Blood Moon was foretold in the Book of Acts.
Conspiracists such as Paul Begley have been proven wrong time and again, but they persist.
