Background:

Any working parent appreciates the value of a good and reliable after school and day- and holiday care facility for their children. We trust these facilities with taking responsibility for our most precious people, while we earn a living. The situation is considerably more complicated for parents of children with special needs. That's what the Angels Hotel and Place of Safety has been providing since 2008. Hettie and Lourens Botha, parents to a daughter with cerebral palsey, along with their team of seven helpers currently provide special care for 39 children from all over the country and continent, who have special needs including physical and mental challenges like cerebral palsy and even downs syndrome. They live in a small section of the house - across the road from the Alma School for physically challenged children in Pretoria. Of the 39 children they look after, 19 live in full time. They do not get any state funding and need to expand their facility to better care for the children - ranging from one to 25 years. The quote they got for the building project is a whopping R175 000 ... This is where our Good Morning Angels come in.

Angels Hotel is ‘n sorgsentrum vir gestremde kinders vanaf  1 jaar tot en met 25 jaar. Angels Hotel bestaan vanaf Februarie 2008. Vir kinders van alle rasse. Hettie Botha die hoof van die sentrum en ook eienaar  was voorheen 7 jaar betrokke by Alma skool vir gestremdes. Daar het ek die nood gesien van ouers met sulke kindertjies. Omdat ek self die ouer is van ‘n gestremde het ek geweet waaroor dit gaan en dat daar niemand is wat hierdie kindertjies wil versorg nie. Daarom het ons besluit om ‘n plekkie vir hierdie kinders te begin.

Ons het dus ‘n plekkie gekoop om ‘n veilige hawe vir hierdie kinders te skep.

Ons huisves tans 39 gestremde kinders met alle gestremdheid. NL. Down sindroom, spastiese kwadruplee hiperaktiewe kinders asook kinders wat op buis voedings is.

19 van hierdie kinders bly permanent in. dan het ons ook voldag kinders en ook naskool kinders van ander gestremde skole.

Ons het tans 7 versorgers om te help met hierdie kinders. Hulle bly ook voltyds in omdat dit ‘n voltydse werk is. 

Ons inkomste kry ons tans van die ouers wat bydrae tot die versorging van hulle kinders. Dit word aangewend vir die salarisse van ons assistente asook die krag rekening en gedeelte van die kos.

Ons is ‘n nie-winsgewende sentrum en is totaal afhanklik van mense soos u om ons by te staan om vir hierdie kinders ‘n verskil in die lewe te kan maak.

Ons brei vinnig uit en ons grootste nood is om ‘n groter lokaal te he om hierdie kinders te kan versorg.

Ons deure staan ook oop vir enige een van die publiek om ons te besoek en self die nood te kom raak sien.
