Female orangutan set to find her partner on Tinder using a tablet
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
For one female orangutan, she has been given an extra chance at finding love. Samboja will be given a tablet to help her choose between males as the perfect mate.
A Dutch zoo will be going techno-savy when it introduces its female orangutan to a few possible partners via a tablet. Samboja the orangutan will be shown a few males on her tablet before she is introduced, hoping that she picks her mate.
The four-year experiment is called 'Tinder for Orangutans', and the study hopes to show how orangutans decide on picking a mate. One of the main issues is the durability of the touch-pad. One tablet has been built using a steel frame to make it stronger and last longer.
With that being said, anything seems to be possible these days. We sure hope that Samboja find her perfect match, even if it does stem from a dating app.
