Background:

Imagine living in a small shack, as a single breadwinner struggling to keep your three children's bellies full. Imagine finding someone you've known from a far on the street, close to death. What would you do? Sylvia Mokoena was in just this situation. As a mom of three, doing what she can to make ends meet, she found Wollie Wolmerans. She'd known him from town as a kind man. His family had lost contact with him and he was very ill with no where to go. Sylvia took him into her humble home, gave him her bed, shared what little she had with him and when he refused to go to a hospital, cared for him. She also made the effort to find his family, who had been looking for him. She made sure Wollie went home, so that he would die surrounded by his children and with dignity. Wollie's family asked Good Morning Angels to help them pay it forward to Sylvia and our friends at Cell-C were happy to help!

Original request:

We received a phone call from a lady who asked us if we know or have a family member with the name Wollie Wolmerans. We realized that she is talking about my father who was estranged from our family for years. The lady, Sylvia Mokoena, was walking in a passage when she saw this old man lying on a floor and she took him home with her and cared for him and somehow got my number and contacted me. We went to Bethlehem on Saturday morning and went and fetch my dad. We took him home, but after 2 hours at home, he passed away.

We would like to thank her for all she did for him and all the care she gave him. She's a single mom of three children and very poor. Still, she gave her bed up for my dad and gave him food. Even with no money she managed  to get some money to care for an extra person that she didn't really know and to phone and get in contact with us. If I could ask for Good Morning Angels to help her with food and her daughters education.

Thank you,
Joggie Wolmarans
