Ampie, with the help of our listeners, created the perfect parody song to Maroon 5's 'I Don't Wanna Know'.
If there is one thing we love, it has to be a good parody song. Using a famous, more well-known melody, and adding one's of flair and creativity to it is what make parody songs so popular.
Ampie du Preez is no stranger to the music industry. In 2010 he collaborated with South African cricketer AB de Villiers on their debut album, Maak Jou Drome Waar. Recently he performed the track 'Saamstaan' at rugby legend, Joost van der Westhuizen's memorial.
Using the theme 'SASSA mess', we teamed up with musician Ampie du Preez, and with the help of our listeners, we created a hot song. The SASSA grant has been the talk of the town lately and we thought that it would be the perfect theme for our parody song.
Lyrics: 'SASSA! We Wanna Know'
CHORUS
I wanna know, know, know, know
Who’s taking the dough dough dough dough
Disliking this so so so so
The way they screwed this up you know
I wanna know, know, know, know
Why they’re taking so slow slow slow slow
Disliking this so so so so
Send them home, no pay you know
We do wanna know
VERSE
SASSA
And the more they drink, the more we sink, astound you
Oh no, We can’t take it
Baby, every place we go reminds us of it
PRE CHORUS
Do they think of us
Of what we really need
Will it be better now, CPS around
It’s a bloody shame
Bathabile destroyed her name
Are you happy now
Are you happy now
Take a listen to the song below.
