New, alarming drone footage shows severity of Cape Town drought

As families in the Western Cape try and save water, D-Day
draws closer for Capetonians.

Day Zero has been moved closer due to high water usage in the Mother City.
The Western Cape is suffering under crippling drought and this could mean an influx of Capetonians to Gauteng as residents search new homes where water is less scarce.
New drone footage shows the Theewaterskloof Dam at 16.8%.
The alarming footage was captured by Ray de Vries of Airwater. He projects the dam, which supplies almost half of Cape Town’s water supply which will dry up completely on 14 February 2018.
Dam Levels in the province are at an average of 29%.
Day Zero has been moved forward by a week, from 29 April to 22 April.
