What embarrassing things have you done on a first date?

If it wasn't for the first date, perhaps life as we know would be non-existent. Consider how many first dates lead to marriage or life partnerships that produce children, ultimately. The First Date is a crucial first step in the preservation of life itself.
Most married people, most people in life partnerships and most people that are parents to a couple of children more than likely started things off with a first date.
It may have been dinner and a movie. Or meeting up at a music festival and then going for a drink afterwards. Or perhaps the couple was set up via mutual friends. Whatever it is, there is a plethora of awkward 'first date stories' out there, right?
