Who knew an old toothbrush could be used for this?!

When it comes to reusing old household items, it can be helpful, but only if you know what to do.

These common items have other uses, but you wouldn't think so if you're just looking at them from one angle.

1. For girls who want a cost-effective way of creating a full hair bun. Simply cut off the toe part of an old sock, roll up the sock inward and place in your ponytail to make a fuller looking bun.

2. If you have built up grease on a pot or frying pan, apply some toothpaste to it and rub with a scourer. The pan comes out squeaky clean and minty fresh...

3. If you don't want your fabric sneakers to absorb water when you are out in the rain, then simply rub the wax of a candle on it and it will make them waterproof.

4. If you don't have very good eyesight and struggle to thread a needle with cotton, use the head of a toothbrush. Simply place the cotton onto the bristles and push the eye of the needle downward, the cotton will feed into the eye, making it easier to thread.

5. If you don't have a spare tube of toothpaste, you can roll out your toothpaste tube from the bottom up to squeeze out some onto your toothbrush. Alternatively, you could cut the tube to get out any excess paste.
