Woman cooks dinner using her dishwasher

Who knew that this was even possible?

With electricity hikes and load shedding always looming, it’s no surprise that South Africans are constantly on the lookout for creative ways to cut back on energy use.
This trend emerged some time ago and seems a bit extreme – or does it?
A mom went viral for using her dishwasher to wash her fresh produce. Now, Chef Juliette, known for her no-rules approach to cooking on Instagram, is taking things a step further by using her dishwasher to cook a meal.
Juliette took her
“no rules” cooking outlook to a whole new level when she used her
dishwasher to prepare a family meal. But we'll be honest, the results didn't look appetising.
In a tongue-in-cheek post, she placed chicken and spaghetti into jars filled with water and ran them through a dishwasher cycle. When the jars came out, the chicken looked bland and unappealing.
We believe she followed the trend and the status quo: cooking without rules in her dishwasher. But that doesn't mean it's acceptable.
Watch her video from Instagram.
People were less than forgiving in the comments section, and her cynicism was matched:
"Are people out here eating unseasoned chicken in 2025?"
"This is genius, you should also consider washing your laundry in there at the same time for the trifecta."
"i leave mine cracked open a little bit so the leftover seasoning from the other dishes can kind of season the chicken. it helps make it more tender too. soooo good!!"
