Just a game of catch with a stranger... or a life-changing act of kindness

Definitely a reminder that sometimes taking time out of your busy day to do something good is worth it...

In life, there can be moments where we forget about what's truly important.

And, yes, deciding what that it is can be very much subjective, but we're referring to the basic human act of kindness.

Just being good to others, making time to show someone that they mean something.

Well, this man (John Scukanec) inspired us with his story and we had to share it.

He shares that he is a baseball fan and recently stumbled across a podcast that talks about baseball and playing catch for 365 days.

So he decided to participate. On day 98 of his catch 365 mission, he came across a man standing on a sidewalk with his baseball glove. He decided to instinctively stop and ask him for a game of catch.

After stopping and speaking with his new friend Wade, he realised that Wade suffered from some sort of "intellectual disability" (that's what he calls it).

The special part came when a woman arrived to check on them, and Wade introduced John as his friend. The woman, who we assume is his care giver, told John that he will remember this forever, and Wade replied saying that he will talk about this for a long time...

To which John responded, "Cool, so will I."

The moral of the story is that sometimes life pays you in kind and this catch 365 idea isn't just feeding into John's love of baseball, but helping him be more human to others...

How will you be more human today?
