Is there such a thing as a Daddy Moon?

Dad-to-be asked people on Reddit if going on a solo vacation before his baby arrives is wrong?

We've heard of the term 'baby moon' and we do get why many couples enjoy spending some time together before baby arrives.

For the most part it allows couples to solidify their bond before the baby comes, making sure they are well-rested and revving to go.

Because when that baby does come, best believe that you won't have exclusive alone time for a while.

But then when you hear dad-to-be wants to take a solo break before the baby comes, it really causes somewhat of a stir.

A father-to-be, whose wife is 29-weeks into her pregnancy, took to Reddit to ask people if he was being an a-hole for wanting a break.

This is what he said in his Reddit post:

"He said in his post that he grew up going on vacation every year and he feels it’s an essential part to live a good life but his wife, feels that it’s unnecessary and a luxury that maybe, they can’t afford right now.

I mean, there is a baby on the way and why would you want to leave your wife while you sip on mimosas in the Bahamas?

He explains that his job is stressful and with the baby coming he needs time to himself, away from his 29 weeks pregnant wife: "I told my wife that I was considering taking some time off work and going on holiday somewhere," he wrote."

His wife said it would be fine if he went somewhere closer to home. But he insists on a sunny vacation, and even went on to say that he needs it more than her...

The nerve!

But if we have to be objective, and we are really trying to be here, we can understand (to some degree) that he has grown up taking vacations. And perhaps taking this time away is a way for him to prepare himself for fatherhood.
