Two happy hippos stroll the streets of Richards Bay
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Ah, the pleasures of living in South Africa...

There's this perception that in South Africa, we reside with the wildlife.
And as much as there are instances where that may be true, on the broader spectrum, we live separately from our beautiful wildlife.
In fact, people pay big bucks to go on holiday and be close to wildlife.
We are quite blessed, however, to have situations like the below take place from time to time.
"In the north coast town of KZN, the Zululand Observer frequently documents the presence of the herbivores that often come to greet the residents." (MSN)
And this time it was two hippos who were just strolling around the streets of Arboretum, Richards Bay.
It seems they were just passing by Msimbithi Street on their way to Mzingazi Lake.

Their presence left many people amused, but some made a very valid comment.
These animals are just walking around the land that used to be their habitat, so, we cannot really blame them for wanting to roam their land.
