Shoppers sing and cheer as liquor stores reopen

South Africans braved the cold and queued in front of liquor shops across the country.
Videos of locals singing and cheering in front of liquor shops have been shared across social media platforms as the country welcomed level 3 of the COVID-19 lockdown.
One video showed shoppers singing popular wedding songs in front of a Makro Liquor shop, while another showed long queues outside of Tops at SPAR. Plenty of pictures also showed people queuing in the wee hours of the morning in hopes of being the first few to purchase their beverages as soon as the stored opened.

The liquor association has pleaded with the elderly and vulnerable to stay at home for the next few days as stores are expected to be crowded.
