Mongoose goes toe-to-toe with lions - and wins!
This video proves that it is not the size of the animal in the fight, but the size of the fight in the animal that counts.
In the wild, it is survival of the fittest.
When it comes to surviving a chase and avoiding becoming prey for bigger animals, it is amazing to see how smaller, slower animals keep their wits about them to make it out safely.
Even in the wild, the saying 'pick on someone your own size' is useful. However, when lions are around, it seems all bets are off. Like with these lionesses, who stirred up some trouble with a mongoose.

They slink around the mongoose's burrow, waiting for it to come out before they can pounce. But they are surprised (and their plans are derailed) when the mongoose fights back!
In a strange twist of fate, the lionesses are so confused by the animal's scream that they slow down the attack. The mongoose, instead of hiding, continues to scream at the lioness to get it to leave him alone.
Can you imagine what would have happened if the mongoose was protecting its children in this moment as well?
This display of courage in the face of danger proves that it is not the size of the animal in the fight that matters, but the size of the fight in the animal.
