Pastor ruins Christmas with 'Santa is not real' message, angers parents

A pastor from Texas rubbed many parents the wrong way when he decided to tell their children the 'truth' about Santa Claus.

Pastor David Grisham believes Christmas is all about Jesus Christ and in a bid to stop parents from 'lying' to their children about Santa, he went to Amarillo’s Westgate Mall to tell the children the 'truth'.

"We are going to tell the children here the truth that there is no Santa Claus and that Christmas is about Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross to die for their sins and Jesus was born in a manger two-thousand-and-sixteen years ago, so here we go. We gonna tell them the truth," the pastor can be heard saying in a video.

"Kids, I want to tell you today that there is no such thing as Santa Claus. Santa Claus does not exist. The Christmas season is about Jesus. Jesus was born two-thousand-and-sixteen year ago . He was born in a manger in a small town called Bethlehem and that's the truth about Christmas. The man you’re going to see today is just a man in a suit, dressed up like Santa, but Santa does not exist. Santa’s not real. And parents you all need to stop lying to your children and telling them that Santa Claus is real when in fact he’s not," Pastor Grisham adds.

The pastor went on to urge parents to stop lying to their children.

The message was met with criticism from parents, with one parent shouting "shut up" and urging him to stop what he was doing. One parent even tries to 'attack' the pastor, who can be heard saying "keep your hands to yourself". Another parent can even be heard saying it's not the pastor's "decision to tell my kids what's truth and what's not".
