EFF: ‘Disruption is part of our language’

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is adamant that it will disrupt President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address on Thursday.
EFF leader Julius Malema vowed to disrupt proceedings should the president not fire Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan.

This comes amid a long-standing feud between the minister and the EFF.
In 2018, Malema claimed that allegations that his party members received R1 million in the VBS Mutual Bank scandal are being perpetuated by Gordhan.
EFF spokesperson Vuyani Pambo says by disrupting Sona they will be holding those in power accountable.
“There are many views, it is a democracy, they’ve got their view and our view is that we must disrupt it and make sure we hold government accountable”
“We are going to hold this executive accountable and our way of holding it accountable is by disrupting; disruption is part of our language.”
