Jacaranda FM News reports Eskom’s acting CEO and chairperson Jabu Mabuza says they never issued a guarantee that there would be no load shedding in October and September this year.

Mabuza briefed the media on the latest round of power cuts at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday evening.

Energy expert Ted Blom commented on a video that is doing the rounds on social media - which some believe is a contributing factor to the latest bout of load shedding: "The report we received yesterday is that the Silo number 1 at Kusile had been grossly overfilled and that had now caused a load of coal to be flying all over the show.

“The bottom line is that they will have to switch off that boiler so that they can get workers in there to clean up the mess. This comes from maladministration and bad management and not letting the systems run as they should. On autopilot. This just shows that the management at Kusile is not competent to do their job."
