The new EU Legislation demands that Apple creates type C charger

The Europe Union has sent out a demand for all electronic devices to use USB-C charging ports by fall of 2024, regardless of who their manufacturer is.
This follows a legislative process that took a decade to conclude with EU lawmakers.
This requirement is being pushed through to ensure the reduction of technological waste. The next production batch and sale of new laptops, as well as other digital devices, might see a change in the USB cord to comply with the legislation.

Although it might not have been in the plans for Apple to switch to the cable type C, the company is not exempt to the legislation passed as it is also expected to abide if it wishes to continue selling its smartphones with Europe.
