Lewis Hamilton just confirmed that he is XNDA - the rapper who featured on Christina Aguilera's single, 'Pipe'.

When 'Pipe' dropped in 2018, rumours started to swirl that the Formula One champ was using the pseudonym XNDA to kickstart his music career.

Lewis declined to comment on the claims but he is finally coming clean.

He took to his Instagram Stories - a few days before winning the British Grand Prix - to reveal that he has been writing and recording music for the past ten years.

The 35-year-old also revealed how his collaboration with Xtina came about.

"I had this incredibly beautiful and talented person reach out to me a while back asking for me to be on her album. I was so blown away and I jumped at the opportunity. I had two hours to write the short verse and record."

Lewis added that he always planned to reveal his identity, but things didn't work out that way.

"The goal was to have the music come out under a different name so that you could hear the music first and later know it was me but it didn't work out the way I'd planned. I shied away from acknowledging it was me, I don't know why, maybe insecurities, fear, overthinking, something I think many people can relate to. Well, I want to say that XNDA is me and I am so honoured and grateful to [Christina] for giving me a place to use my voice."

The Brit says he has recorded a "bunch of different songs" that have helped him "get through some of the most difficult times".

“At some stage I’m going to find a moment to share with you so bear with me.”

Lewis reportedly played samples of his past songs to the likes of Jay Z, Drake, Timbaland, and Kanye West.

"Lewis Hamilton's over at my house and we're playing some music in my studio... We're having an Easter brunch and all of the family's there, my wife's family, my friends, everything. And everybody's like, 'What is this music?' And I'm like, 'It's Lewis Hamilton's music'. They're like, 'Oh my God. It's good, it's really, really good'," Kanye said 2015.
