Thoko Didiza: Today is an important day

ANC Tswhane mayoral candidate, Thoko Didiza arrived at a polling station in Garsfontein earlier today to cast her vote.
Didiza has been in the spotlight after various violent protests erupted in Tshwane with residents of Hammanskraal and Mamelodi not satisfied with her nomination.
The African National Congress officially announced its mayoral candidate for Tshwane in June where after residents took to the streets.
Didiza is a a former minister and headed up the Public Works portfolio in Thabo Mbeki's cabinet.
She was born in the city of Durban and holds a BA (Hons) degree in politics.
Following the resignation of President Thabo Mbeki in September 2008, Didiza was one of 10 ministers who submitted their resignations on 23 September, although it was subsequently announced that she might be willing to remain in her post.
