The former Miss South Africa said she last spoke to Pastor Ray on his birthday, which was 1 October.
"I spoke to you just last week on your birthday, October 1st, not realising it would be our last conversation," she wrote.
The television personality said she is struggling to come to terms with the death.
"I’m still finding the words, but I want to try to do justice to your legacy. You led me to Christ when I was 16 at Rhema Bible Church, guiding me through every part of my Christian journey. You were always there to pray for me, to listen, to teach, to guide.
"In you, I found a spiritual father, a constant source of strength and inspiration," she wrote.

Basetsana also spoke about the role pastor Ray played in her family.
"I remember sharing with you about meeting the man I love and, soon after, you married Romeo and me in December 2000. You were there through my struggles, always reminding me to wait on the Lord," she wrote.
Not only did pastor Ray play a role in her family, but he also stepped in as a father after her biological father passed away.
"When my parents passed, you were by my side. You christened my children and were there for every significant moment. For 34 years, I’ve watched you live out your faith with courage and conviction, standing up for justice and unity even when it made you unpopular. You brought together people of all backgrounds, always teaching, always leading with love," she wrote.

Basetsana praised pastor Ray for being a true leader.
"Today, we celebrate a life truly well-lived. You had a gift for making everyone feel seen. You nurtured us, pastored us, and raised up countless people who rose to their calling. You were never judgmental, embracing our imperfections with compassion. Witnessing you pass the baton to Pastor Joshua was a testament to your servant heart, showing us how a true leader serves even in their final days," she wrote.
The philanthropist thanked pastor Ray for uniting South Africa.
"Your legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering purpose has left an indelible mark. You pioneered ministry, reaching across South Africa and beyond. When we heard you were unwell, we held onto hope, knowing the strength of your spirit. I’ll miss your humor, your grace, and your powerful sermons. We are grateful for the lessons you’ve imparted and the love you shared. 2 Timothy 4:7 — You fought the good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith. Goodnight, Mfundisi. We’ll carry your legacy forward, until we meet again. 🙏🏽✨."
