Carly Rae: Positive reaction to my work is amazing

Carly Rae Jepsen is overwhelmed by the positive reaction her album 'Emotion' has received, and admits it "means the world" it's been such a hit.
The 30-year-old singer first shot to fame with her 2012 single 'Call Me Maybe' and subsequent album 'Kiss', but admits the pressure of following up that success was incredibly daunting.
She said: "Having a hit is a gift. There's also that moment afterwards where you feel frozen, as in, 'What do I do next?' There's this expectation of, 'Can you deliver the exact thing again?' "
Carly released her latest offering 'Emotion' back in June and wowed fans with its mixture of edgy sounds and catchy pop tunes.
The record also impressed critics, and Carly admits she has been overwhelmed by the response to the record.
She told TIME magazine: "It's scary when you're making an album because you're trying to filter everything else out other than what matters to you, as in, what you feel is a honest record, what you feel is something that you want to say.
"I was not expecting people to react so positively to this album. The fact that they have--it's meant the world to me."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty previously said she hopes the release of her new album will encourage fans to be more interested in her music than her private life.
She said: "For lovers of pop music, I want to be able to scratch that itch. I love pop music from the '80s because there's so much longing in it. The melodies aren't just hooky for the moment and annoying in your head - it's emotional. That was my mission".
