Katie Price is opening up about the horrific moment she was raped at gunpoint during a hijacking in South Africa in 2018.

The 44-year-old shares details about the ordeal in her new documentary, ‘Trauma and Me’.

Katie was in SA to shoot scenes for her ‘My Crazy Life’ reality show. Her production crew was travelling in a convoy from Johannesburg to Swaziland when they were confronted by a group of armed men.

The media personality says they had pulled over on the side of the road because her children needed to relieve themselves.

A group of about six men assaulted the group before making off with various items including money, iPads, laptops, and jewellery.

One of the men sexually assaulted the businesswoman. She says she thought she was going to die.

"The experience when I was filming with ITV in South Africa, we had no security. If we had security, they would have been able to deal with the six guys that jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me," Katie told the Daly Mail

Katie, who used to go by the name 'Jordan' professionally, revealed that she had a mental breakdown and tried to take her own life after the incident.

She sought treatment after her ordeal and admitted herself into a rehab clinic.

"I have had my eyes opened about a lot...  I think people who go in there are brave because they are facing their demons and whatever their problems are to make themselves a better person. Mental health, it doesn’t matter how big or how small that may seem, if it’s big to someone then it’s big to them. It’s just different. Anything can happen," she says in her documentary.
