SA celebs up for top empowerment awards

The winner of the Top Empowered Media Personality of the Year Award will be announced at the 15th annual Oliver Empowerment Awards at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.
Nominees for this category include Ashraf Garda, Basetsana Kumalo, Bonang Matheba, Bongani Bingwa, Chad Saaiman, Devi Sankaree, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Katlego Maboe, Khanyi Mbau and Minenhle “Minnie” Dlamini.
The Top Empowered Media Personality Award recognises exceptional leadership and tireless efforts in addressing and raising awareness about community issues in South Africa.
“It’s a great honour to make this super list of media personality finalists,” said Garda.
“I’m really excited about the nomination. The category is diverse and I’m honoured to be among such esteemed and accomplished individuals,” Dlamini said.
“This is incredible!” said Matheba after hearing about her nomination, she said, “Wow, thank you!”
The editorial panel for the award selected these personalities as public figures representing outstanding success in heightening awareness and emphasising the importance of transformation in South Africa.
