SABC's 90% quota pays off for Simphiwe Dana
Updated | By ZAlebs
It looks like Simphiwe Dana is singing all the way to the bank. The musician recently revealed that she has started seeing the fruits of Hlaudi Motsoeneng's 90% local music on SABC radio.

A happy Simphiwe took to Instagram and wrote: "Already seeing the fruits of Hlaudi's 90%. The bank balance is lit nyana. Siyabonga @Sabc."
Earlier this year, the national broadcaster's COO announced the SABC's commitment to showcase local content.
Hlaudi said: "The SABC has taken a radical decision about this local content offering across all its radio, television and digital platforms. It is in this context that the decision on local music will ensure that the SABC fully reflects the various styles of local music on offer."
Since the announcement, various local productions like Real Talk with Anele, Top Chef SA, Weekend Express and others have been introduced on SABC 3.
